The Sharjah Safety and Prevention Authority (SHPA) has held a training program entitled 'Heat Stress Prevention' for technical staff and solar workers in Khorfakkan, in order to train them on prevention and awareness raising to reduce heat stress injuries in Sharjah, especially in the summer.
The training program includes a number of axes, the most important of which is the definition of heat stress and diseases associated with high temperatures and factors that lead to heat stress, and measures to reduce heat stress.
Mahra Al Shehhi, Acting Director of Training Institute, said that the Authority intends to establish a number of training programs on heat stress prevention, which are scheduled to be offered in the summer to Sharjah and the central and eastern region of the Emirate of Sharjah in order to deal with these cases and the mechanism of treatment.
She added that coordination was held with the relevant authorities to implement training and awareness programs for all officials of technical personnel in the emirate on ways to avoid heat stress, in compliance with the ministerial decision on banning the performance of work in the sun, and in the open places from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm During the period from 15 June to 15 September.
