The session, which discussed the importance of the Authority's role in applying the highest standards of safety and prevention in order to preserve the safety of life and property, witnessed a great objectivity of government officials, who all took turns in answering the questions raised, without exclusivity, or one of them to respond without the other, in a spirit Collective action, harmony and cohesion; for the common good, was commended by the members of the Council.
At the beginning of the session, the Secretary General of the Council, Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, read the general topic of the discussion and the names of the applicants, saying: The Sharjah Safety and Prevention Authority was established by Emiri Decree No. 55 of 2014, which was issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi The Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, to promote the quality of life in the emirate; through the application of the highest standards of safety and prevention; in order to preserve the safety of life and property, and the Authority has many competencies.
The keenness of the board
On the discussion of the policy of the Prevention and Safety Authority, Khawla Al-Mulla said: We affirm the keenness of the Board to give the Authority the utmost importance; due to its vital tasks; All through community outreach and the tasks of the Authority to achieve its objectives in the decree of its establishment, in particular to reduce and eliminate the negative or harmful effects that may result from accidents in buildings in accordance with approved regulations.
Safe society
Then, Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Authority, praised the role of the Advisory Council, and its communication with government departments and citizens, pointing out that the Authority is a nascent; started its work in 2015, and in 2015 issued Law No. (8) for the year 2015 on the organization of goals The Authority's mandate is to reach a safe and risk-free society to enhance Sharjah's human and technical capabilities and to implement the highest internationally recognized safety and protection standards to ensure the protection of society and the safety of life and property.
The Authority established the Institute of Preventive Training, which seeks to develop training programs, and the preparation of technical and human competencies; in order to ensure public safety, the Institute launched four important initiatives; «Professional Diploma» and «Prevention is our goal».
Twenty-two areas were inspected in the emirate, with an average of 2,141 residential buildings in 2018 and 900 residential buildings in the first quarter of this year.
The percentage of Emiratisation in the Authority reached 75% this year, compared to 67% in 2018.
Discussions and interventions
After that, the members of the Council presented their interventions, and included several axes that confirmed the role of the Authority in providing the best services, and the application of the highest standards of prevention and safety, and raising awareness where at the beginning of the interventions Ahmed Al-Jarrah asked about the Authority's plan to raise awareness in the cities and regions of the Emirate to use safety means. Dr. Khalifa Bin Dalmouk inquired about the Authority's coordination to put in place mechanisms to implement the Minister of Interior's decision on fire alarms in citizens' houses.
Khalifa asked Tamim Al Ketbi about the aspects of cooperation with the Department of Statistics and Community Development; The Authority's efforts in the localization of its various administrative and technical functions and its plans to encourage students in various disciplines.
Mohammed Essa Al-Darmaki raised a number of axes, asking about the Authority's policy in the electronic and intelligent transformation of its services. She asked Wahida Abdulaziz about the coordination meetings that the Authority is holding with the competent authorities to develop a joint plan to study the causes of accidents in residential areas.
He asked Khaled al-Ghaili al-Zaabi about the role of the Commission in coordination with the competent authorities with regard to cases of rainfall.
Mohammed bin Noumeh Al Ketbi inquired about the possibility of the Authority in accordance with a timetable and a clear agenda in the training of officials of the Government of Sharjah in safety procedures, while Rashid Al Hinawi Al Naqbi said that the construction of public housing for citizens in the sites flowing valleys, while the member Mohammed Al Mansouri asked aspects of coordination of the Authority With the Roads and Transport Authority and the Sharjah Police General Headquarters, on pedestrian safety procedures.
