The Prevention and Safety Authority raises awareness among thousands of workers about Occupational Health Day

The Prevention and Safety Authority celebrated the World Day for Occupational Safety and Health, which falls on April 28 of each year, and the International Workers’ Day, which falls on May 1 of each year, which was organized in coordination with the Labor Standards Development Authority in Al-Saja’a Labor Park. This celebration aims to enhance the role and efforts Workers in urban and service development and renaissance, and maintaining the safety and health of workers while they are in the workplace.

The Authority provided a group of awareness-raising activities and services that contribute to raising awareness. It included specialized training programs in occupational safety and health in several languages that were presented by specialized trainers in the field. These workshops also included many aspects such as the procedures that must be followed in the workplace, the response plan. For emergencies and first aid.

The Authority also participated in the Safety Bus, which is one of the Authority’s initiatives that works to reach groups that find it difficult to leave their workplaces, through which a group of awareness films are shown in different languages, including prevention from working at heights and construction sites, and personal protective equipment that must be worn in technical workshops. And other topics concerned in the field of occupational safety and health.

In addition, the Authority participated in an awareness platform through which awareness brochures and preventive tools were distributed in conjunction with the heat stress campaign that the Authority will launch during the month of June of this year.

Sheikh Saif bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, confirmed that the safety and health of workers is a top priority for the Sharjah government, and on the occasion of International Workers’ Day and World Occupational Safety and Health Day, His Excellency called on all entities that registered in the electronic program to apply the requirements required of them according to their classification in the Sharjah Safety System. Occupational Health also called on entities that have not completed their registration procedures to expedite registration in the electronic program.
