Within the framework of the joint cooperation between the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (Standards) and the Prevention and Safety Authority in Sharjah, the National Accreditation Department in the "Standards", University City, Sharjah, has conducted a training program, for the employees of the Prevention and Safety Authority, on the requirements of accreditation of inspection bodies in accordance with the international standard. ISO / IEC 17020: 2012.
The training aimed to raise the efficiency of conformity assessment bodies operating in the Emirate of Sharjah, in a way that ensures the provision of high quality services, reflected in all sectors concerned with health and safety, as well as contribute to building national capacity of the rehabilitation of residents to implement the procedures of evaluation and technical audit, within the partnership between the two bodies Control system for conformity assessment bodies.
Dr. Rehab Al Ameri, Director of the National Accreditation Department at Specification, said that the implementation of training programs on an ongoing basis is part of the Authority's agenda to improve the quality of the national infrastructure sector, within the registration and accreditation processes in which the National Accreditation Department, in accordance with the requirements of Cabinet Resolution No. 35 For the year 2015 on the UAE system of control of conformity assessment bodies.
Al Amri added that the training provided by specialists from the National Accreditation Department, in the presence of the staff of the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority from the Department of Conformity, Specifications, Inspection, Quality, Health and Safety, included a presentation of the requirements of the international standard for inspection bodies in accordance with ISO / IEC 17020: 2012, and the requirements of the registration of evaluation bodies. Conformity in accordance with the requirements of Cabinet Resolution No. 35 of 2015, as well as the presentation of registration procedures and evaluation of conformity assessment bodies for the purpose of registration, in accordance with the technical requirements issued by the specifications.
The training also addressed the requirements and procedures for granting accreditation to conformity assessment bodies by the UAE National Accreditation System (ENAS) in accordance with international requirements and practices and the additional requirements issued by the UAE National Accreditation System.
The training program is part of the 'Zaid with Enas' initiative, which was launched by the UAE National Accreditation System in 2018, coinciding with the 'Year of Zayed', which includes the implementation of a series of specialized technical training programs, to support and enhance the efficiency of workers and residents, within the activities sector.
