This explanatory
document provides information for organizations and safety officers about
defining a qualified Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) officer according to
the requirements of the Sharjah Occupational Health and Safety System. This
guide was developed to offer support to government entities and private
businesses by providing information that helps Occupational Health and Safety
officers comply with the Sharjah Occupational Health and Safety System
requirements. The information in this guide represents the minimum accepted
requirements that must be followed. Government entities and private businesses
can have higher requirements than those mentioned in this guide, but applying
practices lower than these standards is not acceptable.
