Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Prevention and Safety Authority in Sharjah, confirmed that the Sharjah Executive Council’s adoption of the weekly holiday on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, as the first Arab city to adopt this system, contributes to strengthening family bonding and community cohesion, and enhancing the quality of life for employees, especially with the extension of the weekend. The week becomes 3 days instead of 2 days. This comes as an enhancement of family cohesion, especially after the announcement of the emirate of Sharjah winning a child-friendly city for the second time in a row, and this award is the highest global award given to honor the pioneering initiatives presented by child-friendly cities.
