The Prevention and Safety Authority in Sharjah has issued awareness brochures regarding safety and security conditions in homes, commercial and industrial establishments, in order to avoid and reduce errors causing fires, the victims of which go to many people and result in severe material losses.
Sheikh Eng. Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Authority, stressed the importance of educating those in charge of the various installations and their employees, by introducing them to the safety and security conditions that must be followed and adhering to them, as well as not being complacent, to avoid accidents at work such as injuries, deaths and fires.
He said: The authority has been keen to provide advice and guidance to the targeted people in many languages, including Arabic, English and Urdu, which included information about the necessary precautions to provide safety and safety for buildings and facilities, including installing smoke detectors in the corridors and kitchens, working to maintain and replace them when necessary, and training family members to use safety methods And gathering at a certain point when hearing the alarm, the presence of a valid fire extinguisher, and learning how to use it, while placing it in a place far from the children not to tamper with it.
With instructions for using kitchen use such as closing the stove switches, wearing the glove and placing the cap on the pan with caution, as well as opening it with caution not to enter oxygen for fire and increasing the ignition, and not to try to put out the fire with water, while refraining from leaving the cooking unattended, and the need to replace the gas regulator, and not Place the flammable materials near the gas source, and do not use anything that emits heat from a distance of one meter from the gas source.
He noted that there are some safety measures that must be available in the buildings, the most important of which is to leave the emergency exits impassable, and not to use the balconies for storage and the installation of devices and smoke detectors, especially after the facts of past incidents have proven the existence of violations committed by some in the residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
The head of the Sharjah Safety and Protection Authority called for the necessity of the commitment of workers and officials in construction sites to personal protection equipment that must be worn before entering the sites, such as wearing gloves, helmet, shoes, safety jacket, protective clothing, and safety belt in high places, in addition to special equipment, each according to the nature of his work Such as protective headsets, face and mask protectors, and eyeglasses.
He stated that the concerned parties in the authority, in coordination with the competent authorities, publish these awareness and instructions for the targeted people according to a studied plan targeting all concerned workers and employees in the various establishments in the emirate, targeting to reach as much as possible.
