Sharjah (Al-Ittihad) The Sharjah Safety and Prevention Authority has conducted an awareness-raising campaign on the emerging centers of the Quarter-Century Foundation for the Industry of Leaders and Innovators, as it constitutes the emerging campaign across the emirate. The inspection campaign came at the request of the Department of Emerging Centers in the Emirate, while fulfilling the safety requirements in the centers to ensure the safety of the centers' visitors, in addition to reducing the risks that result from neglecting the maintenance of public facilities, where the Public Works Department, which is the authorized body to inspect government buildings in the Emirate, participates. Field inspections by the Prevention and Safety Authority of the emerging centers. Omar Al-Midfa, Deputy Director of the Financial Affairs and Logistics Support Department, said: “It was noticed that there are some dangers in the centers’ buildings, and their need for periodic maintenance of all building facilities. Accordingly, contact has been made with the Protection and Safety Authority to obtain a thorough inspection of the buildings, so that the maintenance is performed and all safety requirements are met, Especially since most of the attendees of the centers are children, so for the sake of their security and safety, the inspection order was referred to the competent authority ». Abdul Rahman Shahail, head of the Audit and Inspection Department of the Prevention and Safety Authority, stated that the authority seeks to prevent society from dangers, and to ensure that buildings meet the minimum safety requirements, as the Department of Emerging Centers in Sharjah submits a request to inspect buildings that have them, after it was noticed that there are some risks that Threatening the safety of young people in the centers ’buildings, so coordination was done with the Public Works Department regarding building inspection, preparing inspection checklists and the expected schedule, as the campaign includes two aspects, an inspection side and an awareness side to communicate the educational messages seamlessly. Eng. Hamad Ahmed Al-Kuwaiti, an electrical engineer at the Public Works Department, said, “All security and safety requirements in buildings have been monitored, including fire systems, evacuation, and electrical connections, as well as the wrong storage methods at emergency exits.” He continued, "The department works permanently to fulfill all safety requirements in buildings, in addition to raising the level of preventive culture among workers in the centers, in a manner that is consistent with achieving the common goals of the authority and the department of works."
