On December 1st /WAM/ Sheikh Engineer Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may Allah protect him, to the members of the Supreme Council of the Union, the Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, and to the people of the UAE, on the occasion of the 47th National Day of the United Arab Emirates. He prayed to Allah, the Almighty, to bless their efforts in achieving the aspirations of the people for more prosperity and well-being, and to grant them continued health and happiness, hoping that this dear occasion will be celebrated in future with success and health.
In his speech on the occasion of the National Day, Sheikh Khalid bin Saqr Al Qasimi said, "Every year, on the second of December, we celebrate the glorious National Day of the United Arab Emirates. It is the day when the Emirati national journey began, full of achievements and successes that have placed our country among the most important and advanced countries in the world".
He added, "Our celebration today is to renew our commitment to follow the path and approach of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, and his companion, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, may his soul rest in peace, and the rulers who joined together for justice and goodness. On December 2nd , 1971, they declared the establishment of the United Arab Emirates and initiated a journey of development and construction that covered all aspects of life, allowing the country, in a short period of time , to occupy its rightful place among the nations of the world."
