A report by the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority revealed that it trained 3,185 people from the beginning of the year until the end of the third quarter of 2021 AD, with the aim of achieving one of its most important strategic goals towards maintaining the safety of society and the sustainability of assets in the Emirate of Sharjah and raising the culture of occupational safety and health.

Sheikh Saif bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Director of the Prevention and Safety Authority, stressed the authority’s constant endeavor towards community awareness, as it is one of the important ways towards achieving the authority’s vision, which aims to reach a safe society free from dangers and spread the culture of prevention and safety in order to achieve community prevention from dangers of different types. Its causes, the authority, through its awareness programs, has trained all segments of society, and the authority continues its approach in its constant pursuit of spreading the concepts of prevention and safety.

He stressed the importance of raising awareness in avoiding many potential accidents in various facilities, calling on institutions and individuals to pay attention to this area, as it protects them and their families from various dangers.

For her part, Engineer Lamia Al Noman, Director of Support Services Department at the authority, indicated that the goal of the training programs is to educate community members in the field of safety and prevention of dangers, which directly contributes to the security and safety of the entire community and its segments and categories, which leads to anticipating and greatly reducing accidents. Awareness of preventive measures contributes directly and effectively to avoiding dangers and prompt proper action in cases of accidents, as the workshops varied between safety on school campuses and homes, and pharmaceutical safety. In the first place comes training on the concept of occupational safety and health, which is closely related to the work of the authority and the work of most groups. In the community.

Among the most prominent awareness campaigns presented by the authority during the current year is the campus safety campaign, which it cooperated with the University of Sharjah to implement, where training workshops on safety procedures were provided on campus for university students with the distribution of awareness leaflets, in addition to a similar campaign to train 360 teachers of the faculty. In private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah, in cooperation with the Sharjah Special Education Authority, for a safe return to schools.
